1. Read 52 books.
I’m happy to report that this goal was exceeded! My final tally was 65 books. Yay!
2. Work out at least 3 times a week.
Oh dear, can anyone keep a fitness related resolution all year? I did pretty well right up until July, when most of our time became tied up in renovating our home. Until I fell off the wagon, I was averaging 4 workouts a week, and I definitely lost some unwanted weight.
3. Keep my nails pretty.
Again, this went by the wayside in July.
4. Visit museums.
Well, this didn’t happen too much either. However, we did make the most of our trip to Florida and visited NASA, which was one of my favorite activities of the year.
5. Light more candles.
Success! I’ve started lighting candles when I get home from work, even if we’re just sitting in the room watching TV.
6. Do a trial run of my own Happiness Project.
I started this goal with the best of intentions, and actually got through March with monthly areas to focus on to improve. It didn’t go past then.
I guess it’s pretty typical to succeed in some resolutions and fail in others. But that’s what I like so much about new years – they’re a fresh start to get back on track. I haven’t really given much thought to 2014’s resolutions, but I’m sure many will have to do with completing house projects, finding more time to be with family and friends, being a better blogger, and again, trying to slow things down so as not to miss the little things.
Happy New Year to everyone!
